About Us

Assisting Individuals on Their Journey to Independence

New Options Employment Services provides small business development services and employment readiness and placement services with commitment, integrity, honesty, and passion. New Options' Customized Employment Solutions (CES) program exists for the empowerment of individuals having developmental disabilities, focusing on the development of customized employment solutions that result in successful business ownership or successful community employment, thus increasing the participant's quality of life.

New Options’ CES Program is designed to assist participants referred by Kern Regional Center in choosing, obtaining, and maintaining employment commensurate with their vocational goals and abilities, as well as their social, psychological, communication, environmental, and medical needs, either through the development of their own small business/micro enterprise or through a customized employment development process.

New Options’ CES program is divided into three phrases: Discovery, Development, and Deployment.

New Options has the experience to ensure the absolute best quality services to those participating in the program. Along with a diverse background in both business management and entrepreneurial ownership in the Bakersfield community, the staff at New Options has had tremendous success in turning around and managing numerous programs providing services for people with disabilities including customized employment.
Mike Butler, Owner of New Options, formerly acted in the capacity of VP and Director of Operations for PathPoint of Kern and then as Director of Workforce Development for Goodwill Industries, having transformed programs in both agencies into top service providers.

Here we provide customized work readiness services to people with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to identify the abilities, strengths, passions, and dreams, and to develop a custom plan to assist the participant in obtaining employment or to become self employed in an area that meets those abilities and dreams.
